Forum “Four Countries - One Destination” to launch in Myanmar

(TITC) – On 25 July 2016, in Ha Noi, Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) in collaboration with Bank for Investment and Development of Viet Nam (BIDV) organized a press conference to introduce Forum connecting tourism space “Four Countries - One Destination” and expanding cooperation in the banking sector among Cambodia - Laos - Myanmar - Viet Nam (CLMV).

Accordingly, the forum will take place from 30 July to 1 August 2016 at the Hoang Anh Gia Lai Complex in Yangon, Myanmar. The event is expected to attract 500 - 600 delegates, including the participation of government leaders, businesses in the banking and tourism sectors of CLMV countries.

In his speech, Mr. Ha Van Sieu - Deputy Director General of VNAT spoke highly of the initiative and efforts to boost the banking sector’s investment for tourism development and improve the efficiency of cooperation among CLMV countries. He emphasized that this would be the opportunity to boost economic and trade cooperation, tourism development among four countries; expand cooperation in the banking sector; strengthen investment for tourism development. In addition, the event also aims at promoting the beauty, culture and people of CLMV countries.

There will be 17 activities in the framework of this regional economic and cultural event, including the forum and 16 other sideline activities.

As the president of Association of Vietnamese Investors in Myanmar (AVIM), in October 2015, BIDV proposed to organize this forum in Myanmar to enhance intra-regional economic and tourism cooperation.

The forum is expected to be held every two years.
