Vietnam won two gold prizes at the third International Puppetry Festival, which took place in Hanoi from Sept. 4-10.
At the closing ceremony on Sept.10, the organisers gave three gold prizes and four silver prizes to puppet theatres from the host Vietnam, Indonesia and Taiwan (China).
14 gold prizes and 21 silver ones were also awarded to domestic and foreign puppeteers and artist teams.
In additions, prizes for the best director, designer and musician were handed over to winners.
Co-organised by the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Departments of Performing Arts and International Cooperation, the event attracted the participation of 15 Vietnamese and foreign art troupes from all over the world.
It aimed to boost co-operative relations in culture and arts between Vietnam and other nations.
The festival was also a chance for Vietnamese artists to introduce the unique art of water puppetry and exchange experiences with foreign artists.
