Ooc Om Bok
01 Jan 1970 - 01 Jan 1970 | Mekong Delta

Ooc Om Bok (or Ooc Om Boc) is the one of the liveliest festivals in the Khmer calendar. Vietnamese in the Mekong Delta use this time to thank the moon god for good crops of rice and abundant catches of fish, and to celebrate the end of the Khmer year. Fruit and vegetables are given as offerings to the gods at midnight. Thousands of visitors gather to watch boat races, and ethnic dancing and music is guaranteed.
