The Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang will host the year, with the cooperation of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, 13 provinces in the Mekong Delta region and six linked provinces and cities.

According to the Kien Giang People’s Committee, the main tourism products planned for the tourism year includes eco-tourism and sea-island packages; tours to craft villages; tours to festivals and religion sites; MICE tours and tours connecting Cambodia, Thailand and Viet Nam.

The organising committee has also chosen the logo of the National Tourism Year 2016 Phu Quoc - Mekong Delta, with a bright sun in the middle representing Phu Quoc Island and 13 rays of light symbolizing 13 Mekong Delta localities.

A forum on making shared efforts to develop tours connecting Mekong Delta tourism and Ha Noi and Northern localities was organised after the news conference.

The forum is part of the Mekong Delta Culture and Tourism Week 2015, which is taking place at the Viet Nam Centre for Culture and Art Exhibition.
