Update: Dec 18, 2015
A road show to promote tourism in Viet Nam took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on December 16.

It is part of a tourism promotion campaign to introduce Viet Nam’s new tourism services and visa exemption policy, Deputy Director General of Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism Ngo Hoai Chung, said in his opening remarks.

He said once the ASEAN Community is formed on December 31, Viet Nam’s tourism sector will see both opportunities and challenges that will require the country to improve the quality of its workforce, vocational training and corporate governance.

Last year, around 330,000 Malaysians arrived in Viet Nam. The 11-month figure for this year was 307,000, up 1.9 percent annually. It is expected to hit around 500,000 by 2020.
