A programme entitled ‘Vietnamese Tet’ will be held at Ha Noi Museum from January 29 to February 3 to recreate a space imbued with traditional culture.

More than 200 booths will be set-up at the event, introducing traditional handicraft products, specialties, tourist products and ornamental plants.

Visitors are also invited to take part in folk games and enjoy folk art forms such as ca tru (ceremonial singing), cheo (traditional opera) and chau van (spiritual singing).

They can also learn how Vietnamese people prepare a traditional feast and how they arrange their altar for the Tet festival under the presentations of chef Pham Anh Tuyet and Professor Tran Lam Bien.

An exhibition displaying 100 calligraphy works by well-known calligraphers will be organised by the Ha Noi Department of Tourism at Temple of Literature from February 2 to 15. 

A Spring Fair is taking place at the Viet Nam Exhibition Centre for Culture and Arts, showcasing typical products of the northwest region such as brocades, wine, tea and sticky rice.

Cultural practices and folk games of ethnic groups in the region are also being staged at the event, including Con (cloth ball) throwing, Xoe dance, panpipe performance and fire dance.

An exhibition on the Vietnamese land and people entering a new spring opened as part of the event. The exhibits were produced by 19 famous painters and sculptors in various media of silk, lacquer, oil and acrylic.

The fair will run through February 2 at No. 2 Hoa Lu street, Hai Ba Trung district.
