The Quang Tri provincial People’s Committee has allowed the Con Co island district People’s Committee to associate with Quang Tri Trade Corporation to open the first tour to the island.
Visitors to Con Co will have chance to visit traditional rooms housing displays reconstructing the history of the army and people of the island over the past 55 years, pay tribute to monument Hill 37 commemorating the soldiers sacrificing themselves to protect the island, visit Nghe Wharf - Mom Ho, the primeval forest on the island and the lighthouse, and enjoy dishes prepared and processed by local people.
Initially, there will be three boat arrivals to the island with 10-30 passengers each.
The tour began on April 21st. It is designed for two days and one night at VND2 million per visitor. People of Quang Tri are offered a preferential price, at VND1.5 million per visitor.
Con Co is located to the East of Vinh Linh district, crossing the 17th parallel about 30 km from the mainland. It is considered one the most beautiful islands of the central region, with an abundant ecosystem and great tourism potential.
