The Viet Nam Museum of Ethnology has received ‘Viet Nam's leading tourist destinations 2016’ award for the second time by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The award honours and affirms the museum’s quality work in 2015. In the last year, the museum has constantly innovated by organising exhibitions and cultural performances that have attracted a large number of domestic and international visitors.
The museum recently upgraded a building in the museum to service travellers.
According to Director of the Viet Nam Museum of Ethnology Vo Quang Trong, the award marks the museum’s contribution to Vietnamese culture and the tourism industry. The museum will continue to improve its operations to better serve visitors, he said.
Over the past time, the Viet Nam Museum of Ethnology has expanded its exhibitions, introducing not only ‘Viet Nam’s ethnic groups’ but also ‘Southeast Asian Culture’. The museum has made 300 collection trips in Viet Nam and other countries, with over 30,000 collected artifacts, including nearly 27,000 artifacts from Viet Nam’s ethnic groups and over 3,000 artifacts from other countries.
