Ho Chi Minh City has been listed by CNN as one of the world’s 23 best street food destinations along with other popular cities in the world, like Bangkok, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Paris...
Accordingly, pho (noodle served with beef and chicken), banh mi (a kind of bread served with condiments, chicken or pork) and com tam (broken rice) were introduced as typical dishes of street food in Ho Chi Minh City.
Banh mi, according to CNN, was spreading out all over the world. The baguette could be filled with a various selection of meats including pâtes, sausage, and shredded pork skin. CNN also suggested visitors to visit Pham Ngu Lao Street - a place close to many attractive sites like Ben Thanh market and the Ho Chi Minh Fine Arts Museum to enjoy com tam with BBQ pork.
Other big cities in the US, Latin America, and Africa countries were also on the list as Hawaii (the US) and Durban (South Africa). Thailand’s capital Bangkok was on the top of the list - the place that, as CNN notes, is “impossible to avoid street food”.
