(TITC) – Aiming to boost Western European tourist arrivals to Viet Nam, from 7-13 October 2016, Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) organized a famtrip for tourism enterprises and media agencies from Western European countries.

On the first days of the famtrip, the delegates had chance to contemplate the beautiful and majestic landscapes of Trang An (Ninh Binh), Ha Long Bay (Quang Ninh); and visit some attractions in Ha Noi Capital such as Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ba Dinh Square, One Pillar Pagoda. The beauty of landscapes and hospitality of local people impressed all delegates. Particularly, some of them who had been to Viet Nam before were surprised by the improvement of Viet Nam tourism.

Addressing at the meeting with the delegation on late 10 October, Director of Tourism Marketing Department, Mr. Dinh Ngoc Duc welcomed the invitation of the delegates and wished them a pleasant journey. He hoped to strengthen tourism cooperation with the enterprises and media agencies to promote Viet Nam tourism and attract more visitors from the Western European countries.
Phu Quoc Island and Ho Chi Minh City are the famtrip’s next destinations before coming back their countries.
Western European countries are considered as key tourist markets of Viet Nam tourism. The number of visitors from 5 Western European countries including the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain has been continuously rising since they were exempted from visa to enter Viet Nam. In the first 9 months of 2016, Viet Nam received 38,324 arrivals from Italy (+31.1%), 42,184 arrivals from Spain (+27.9%), 189,894 arrivals from the UK (+23.1%), 125,620 arrivals from Germany (+18.6%), and 179,613 arrivals from France (+13.8%). |
