Update: Jun 20, 2017
An artistic exchange program on the Vietnamese culture was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism on June 19 in Ha Long City of Northern province of Quang Ninh.

The 120-minute long event in the framework of the APEC High Level Policy Dialogue on Sustainable Tourism started off with a series of songs and dances featuring the foundation and expansion of the Vietnamese people’s first nation through 18 generations of the Hung Kings.

The first part highlighted the different colors of culture of Tay Bac (Northwest) and Viet Bac localities. Lively traditional Xoe dance and Khen (a kind of wind instrument) sounds vividly reflected daily life of people in the northern part of Viet Nam.

The second part introduced sweet “Quan ho” (love duet) and Chau Van (a Vietnamese form of ritual singing) songs of the Red River Delta localities as well as breath-taking landscapes in the region, while the third part featured the great vitality of traditional festivals and instrument, including gongs and T’rung bamboo xylophone of central and central highland provinces.

Cham and Khmer dances and sweet “Don ca tai tu” (Amateur singing) of southern people in the fourth part won the hearts of the audiences. In the final one, the participants had a chance to enjoy contemporary dances and songs praising cultural values, hospitality, and peace-loving spirit of the Vietnamese people.
