The 15th Hoi An - Japan cultural exchange opened on August 19 in Hoi An ancient city, the central province of Quang Nam.
The event, co-held by Hoi An city and the Japanese embassy and agencies in Viet Nam, marks 15 years of cooperation and exchange between the Vietnamese city and Japan.
It is part of activities which contributes to conserving and promoting the close and friendly relations between the two nations, said Nguyen Van Son, Vice Chairman of the Hoi An city People’s Committee.
The event, which runs until August 20, features a plenty of cultural and art activities such as a photo exhibition on the diversification of Vietnamese culture, a Hoi An - Japan art exchange, a Judo martial arts performance and Hoi An - Japan traditional handicrafts, among others.
The opening ceremony saw the performances of artists and bands from Japan and Viet Nam.
