The Vietnamese Cultural Days in Venice were held in mid-September with a string of activities designed to give locals an insight into Viet Nam’s culture.

The event was jointly organised by the Italy-Viet Nam Friendship Association’s Veneto region chapter, the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy, the Viet Nam-Italy Friendship Association and the Ha Noi-based Lan Huong Fashion House.
President of the Italy-Viet Nam Friendship Association’s Veneto region chapter Renato Darsie said he wants to introduce more Vietnamese cultural values to Italians.
Trade Counsellor at the Vietnamese Embassy Bui Vuong Anh spoke highly of activities held by the Italy-Viet Nam Friendship Association and its Veneto region chapter to strengthen the two countries’ relations.
He informed participants of programmes to be held in the time to come, especially in the fields of tourism in celebration of the 45th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties (1973-2018).
The highlight of the event was a show featuring a collection of “ao dai” made by designer Lan Huong.
Visitors were also offered a chance to watch performances by “I Flauti di San Marco” orchestra, and “cheo” (Vietnamese traditional opera) performances.
Other activities included exhibitions featuring lion - the mascot of Venice, Vietnamese toys such as kites, puppets and “to he” (toy figurines) aspired by dragon – Viet Nam’s holy symbol, and a fair on Viet Nam’s medicinal plants.
