The Southern Women’s Museum has opened a showroom on Vietnamese Ao dai to introduce this national tradition.

The showroom includes 100 objects and photos about Vietnamese Ao dai, introducing its formation and its appearance with Vietnamese women during war and national construction.
The specialities of the showroom are Ao dai with special historical characteristics, such as the Ao dai worn by Nguyen Thi Binh, former Minister of Foreign Affairs at the signing ceremony of the Paris Peace Agreement to end the Vietnam War; the Ao dai worn by Ton Nu Thi Ninh, deputy head of the National Assembly’s External Relations Committee (11th tenure) at the opening ceremony of new head office of Vietnamese Embassy in Brussels (Belgium) in 2002; and the Ao dai worn by National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan at her swearing-in ceremony.
There are also photos and objects related to Ao dai worn by women in Nguyen Dynasty palace and Ao dao worn by Vietnamese women in the 1930s.
