Viet Nam boasts two of Top 100 best cities for foodies
Update: Nov 27, 2017
The British catering service CaterWings has announced the list of the world’s Top 100 culinary destinations after surveying thousands of restaurants and cafes.

Accordingly, Viet Nam had two cities in the top 100: Ho Chi Minh city, which ranked 80th, and Ha Noi which took the 87th spot.

The Top 10 saw three Spanish cities winning the website’s recognition, including San Sebastian (1st), Barcelona (4th) and Madrid (7th).

Other high-ranking cities which made it onto the distinguished list included Tokyo (Japan), New York (the US), Singapore, Paris (France), London (England) and Munich (Germany).

The Caterwings list evaluated the number of restaurants per 10,000 citizens, the percentage of fast food outlets to restaurants, plus vegetarian and vegan options.

The study also looked at affordability, calculating how many hours a person on minimum wage would have to work in order to afford a two-person dinner in a restaurant.

In addition, it also based on ratings from 20,000 food journalists and restaurant critics, taken into account to evaluate the quality of the local food scene in each city.
