At the event, the VNAT will promote the “Viet Nam - Timeless charm” slogan as well as tourism products which are expected to draw many Russian tourists, including sea and islands tourism, medical tourism, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) tourism and ecotourism.

The delegation will also introduce new contents of Viet Nam’s tourism development strategy and seek more cooperation between Vietnamese businesses and travel firms along with news agencies of Russia and other countries.

The VNAT sees Russia as a key tourism market. The country is viewed as a safe and friendly destination with sandy beaches, sunny weather and high-end resorts, and rich culture and gastronomy that can attract Russian visitors.

Over 2.86 million foreigners were estimated to visit Viet Nam in January and February, up 29.7 percent from the same period in 2017, according to the General Statistics Office of Viet Nam.

The Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism said it aims to serve between 15 and 17 million foreigners and 78 million domestic travellers this year, with total revenue expected to hit 620 trillion VND (27.28 billion USD), up 21.35 percent on year.

Viet Nam aims to welcome one million Russian tourists by 2020.
