The travel and transportation services company WorldTrans announced its schedule for direct charter flights between Can Tho and Bangkok this year at a press conference in the Mekong Delta city on March 28.

As planned, WorldTrans will operate eight flights between the two destinations in June and July using the 180-seat AIRBUS 320 aircraft from VietJet Air. Flight duration is 1 hour and 25 minutes, with a round-trip ticket costing 4.6 million VND (201.48 USD).
The direct route helps save a great deal of time transiting in Ho Chi Minh City as normal.
WorldTrans General Director Vu Duc Bien said the company aims at becoming a leading charter flight service provider in Vietnam, noting that it is planning to launch 150 charter flights between Vietnam and world tourism hubs such as Japan, the Republic of Korea, China, Thailand, and ASEAN member countries.
Air trips between Can Tho and other destinations account for 30 percent of the company’s total flights, he added.
Dao Anh Dung, Vice Chairman of the Can Tho People’s Committee said the local tourism has experienced robust growth in recent years. The city has welcomed many delegations of tourists to Can Tho and the Mekong Delta region in general as well as sent a large number of locals to domestic and overseas destinations.
The Can Tho international airport has received significant investments but has yet to capitalise on its full capacity, Dung stressed.
Can Tho want to work with air transportation companies to organise more flights in the future.
