Ca Mau province: Cao Dan pagoda recognized as national historical relic

Director of the southern Ca Mau provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Hieu Hung said that Cao Dan pagoda in Tan Loc commune, Binh Thoi district, has been recognized as a national historical relic.


The ceremony to grant the certificate

The ceremony to grant the certificate was held during the Chol Chnam Thmay traditional festival from April 14th to 16th.

According to Ca Mau provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, there are 39 historical relics in the province, including 28 provincial and 11 national relics.

Cao Dan is one of the large Khmer pagodas in the province and was recognized as provincial historical relic in October 2007.

Being a place for communal cultural and religious activities of Kinh and Khmer ethnic people, the pagoda has also a long-lasting revolutionary tradition of hiding cadres during the two resistance wars.
