This information was revealed by Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Deputy Chairman of the city People’s Committee, at a recent handover ceremony of four electric cars and two chargers of Mitsubishi worth USD400,000.
This is the next step of a cooperative program signed between Mitsubishi Motors Corporation and the city Department of Industry and Trade in January, with the aim of encouraging the use of electric cars in localities nationwide.
Mr. Kunihide Kume, Deputy General Director of Misubishi Motors Viet Nam, said Da Nang was chosen as the first locality for the pilot because it has many famous tourist attractions in the city and neighboring areas, especially fully worked-out infrastructure.
He added that in the coming time, the two sides will research the application of electric car technology to serve not only tourism activities but also social life in the city, contributing to reducing CO2 emissions into the environment.
Mitsubishi has sold 150,000 electric and hybrid cars around the world.
