Low-cost airline Air Asia has launched a new direct route from Ha Noi to Penang, Malaysia, reducing travel time between the two destinations to three hours and eliminating the wait for a connecting flight in Kuala Lumpur.
The route was opened on July 1 and will operate four flights per week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The Penang-Ha Noi flight departs at 6:15am, while the return leg will lift off at 8:50am on the same days.
AirAsia Head of Commercial Spencer Lee said this is the airline’s seventh route to Penang, noting that the company desires to continue promoting tourism activities between Viet Nam and Malaysia, with a focus on connecting Hanoians to international destinations within the airline’s network.
Ha Noi is the second city in Viet Nam to have opened a direct air route to Penang after HCM City. Passengers booking tickets from July 2 to July 8 will have an opportunity to enjoy discounts of VND1.2 million on one-way tickets (including taxes) for the flight period until the end of January 31, 2019.
