(TITC) - On 30 August 2018, Vice Chairman of Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), Mr. Ha Van Sieu had a meeting with Chief of Korea Tourism Organization (KTO)’s representative office in Viet Nam, Mr. Jung Chang Wook.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman Ha Van Sieu informed that Viet Nam received nearly 13 million international visitors in 2017, up 29% over the previous year. Of the total, Korean market accounted for 18.7% with about 2.5 million arrivals in 2017 (+56% over 2016). It showed that Republic of Korea has been one of the leading source markets of Viet Nam tourism, more and more Koreans have chosen Viet Nam as their favorite holiday destination.
Vice Chairman Ha Van Sieu expressed his hope that in the coming time, VNAT and KTO’s representative office in Viet Nam would expand effective cooperation and tourism promotion activities to boost tourist exchange between the two countries.
Chief of KTO’s representative office in Viet Nam, Mr. Jung Chang Wook emphasized that KTO has considered Viet Nam as an important market of Korean tourism, and organized many promotional activities in Viet Nam with the significant support of VNAT. In the coming time, KTO’s representative office in Viet Nam would continue to strengthen cooperation with VNAT in organizing tourism promotional activities in Ha Noi and Seoul.
