(TITC) – On September 4, 2018, Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) collaborated with ASEAN – Japan Centre to host seminar on “the Industrial Revolution 4.0: Importance of Technology and Innovation in Tourism”.

The seminar had the participation of nearly 100 delegates representing for tourism enterprises, tourism training establishments in Ha Noi, Vietnamese and Japanese tourism experts and technology companies of Viet Nam and Japan.
Speaking at the seminar, Vice Chairwoman of VNAT Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong impressed that the 4th industrial revolution is the digital revolution characterized by a fusion of technologies that is blurring the lines between the physical, digital, and biological spheres. It is predicted to bring about big changes, not only opportunities but challenges as well to all industries, including tourism.
The application of information technology has been considered as inevitable trend to create a breakthrough of Viet Nam tourism, to enhance national competitiveness and business development. In recent years, both public and private stakeholders of the sector have actively supported information technology projects.
Highly valued technology development in Japan, Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong supposed that Viet Nam should learn precious lessons from the country’s success.
The seminar had the participation of Vietnamese and Japanese speakers
At the seminar, speakers who work for tourism enterprise and technology companies of Viet Nam and Japan shared about online marketing, online travel, social media and digital travel trends in the two countries and in the world. Besides, attendants discussed about the way to apply technology and its advantages in tourism management, training and business, in addition to help tourists to easily access quality tourism products.
