Three photos capturing Vietnam’s natural landscapes have been listed in the top 50 finalists in a nature-based photo contest by Agora, a free-to-use photography and social platform that boasts a community of more than 3.5 million users worldwide.
‘Early Fog’ photo by Cao Ky Nhan
Three pictures include ‘Early Fog’ by Cao Ky Nhan, 'Nipa Palm Forest' by Nguyen Anh Trung, both from Vietnam; and ‘Waterfall Paradise' by Belgian entrant Mica Veras Dos Santos, which features a waterfall in the northern province of Cao Bang.
‘Early Fog’ was taken by Nhan in B'lao ward, Bao Loc city, Lam Dong province after he traversed many difficult roads to climb to the top of a mountain, from where he could see the entire hills below and admire the fog-covered mountains.
Meanwhile, ‘'Nipa Palm Forest' offers an airborne view of a green nipa palm forest in Tinh Khe commune, Son Tinh district, Quang Ngai province.
In addition, ‘The Leader’, a photo by Vietnamese contestant Pham Huy Trung which captures a group of gannets relaxing on a rock in Muriwai beach, New Zealand, also made it into the contest’s group of 50 finalists
Agora launched the Nature2020 photo contest on January 31, challenging all photography lovers to represent what nature means to them through the camera lense. The contest received nearly 11,090 submissions and the photo that gathers the highest amount of votes will be rewarded with US$1,000.
