(TITC) - On November 13, Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh attended the seminar "Binh Dinh activates green tourism: Safe destination, attractive experience" taking place at FLC Quy Nhon International Convention Center, Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province.
Attending the seminar were leaders of Binh Dinh Province, leaders of Tourism associations and representatives of hundreds of travel, accommodation and aviation businesses.
Binh Dinh located in the South Central Coast of Vietnam, is a locality with many scenic spots, historical relics and typical culture suitable for developing many types of tourism.
Speaking at the opening of the seminar, Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Lam Hai Giang said that in recent years, Binh Dinh has been focusing on tourism development, building tourism into a spearhead economic sector, tourism infrastructure has also been gradually developed, and many large projects have been completed and put into operation. The number of tourists is increasing every year. Binh Dinh has become an attractive destination for tourists. Quy Nhon and Binh Dinh tourism brands have been known.
In 2019, tourism directly contributed about 12% of the province's GRDP, attracting 9 investment projects. However, due to the impact of Covid-19, from 2020, the tourism industry suffered serious damage. In the first 10 months of 2021, Binh Dinh welcomed 1.2 million visitors, down 36.3%; tourism revenue was estimated at VND 1,671 billion, down 39%. This is a challenging period for the tourism industry of the whole country in general and Binh Dinh in particular.
Building "Safe destination, attractive experience", promoting digital transformation in all tourism activities
At the seminar, VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh appreciated Binh Dinh's active response and proactive implementation of tourism plans with topics suitable to the context of “Safe destination, attractive experience".
In order for Binh Dinh tourism to recover and have a new positive development, Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh suggested that Binh Dinh should focus on effectively implementing 6 groups of solutions including:
Firstly, implementing tourism activities according to the guidance of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on safe, flexible adaptation and effective control of the Covid-19 pandemic in the fields of culture, sports and tourism;
Second, strengthen linkages and close coordination in tourism recovery, including linkages between departments in the province, between Binh Dinh and other localities, ensuring harmonization of travel regulations between localities in order to facilitate for tourists;
Third, with advantage of natural resources, Binh Dinh should focus on improving the quality of marine, ecological, and cultural tourism to bring attractive experiences to tourists after a long time affected by Covid-19;
Fourth, the province promotes communication, tourist products to attract tourists; applying information technology and enhancing digital transformation in all tourism activities to effectively support tourism recovery;
Fifth, continuing to create favorable conditions and promulgate policies to effectively support enterprises and employees in the tourism industry; promoting public-private cooperation, the participation of large corporations and investors, such as FLC Group, for the local tourism development;
Sixth, for the international tourism market, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to issue Provisional Guideline No. 4122 on piloting to welcome international tourists to Vietnam. The scope of applying will be expanded in early 2022, the localities that actively propose and meet the conditions will be considered for welcoming international tourists. Therefore, Binh Dinh needs to prepare actively in terms of products, service capacity, and plans to welcome international visitors with ensuring safety and convenience for tourists, workers, communities and businesses.
Businesses are preparing plans to ensure safety and build new products to serve tourists to Binh Dinh province
Sharing about the preparation for the resumption of tourism activities, a representative of FLC Group said that the enterprise has fully prepared human and material resources for the reopening to serve tourists with many modern and synchronous facilities including airlines, yachts, international convention centers, modern golf courses... FLC has established the process of welcoming guests ensuring strict 5K message, airport pick up to hotel. The enterprise also completed 100% of FLC staff getting 2 doses of vaccines, improved their capacity to respond to pandemic, trained medical staff, etc.
With Vietrantour, the enterprises concerns to build tourism products. Binh Dinh has big potential for variety of tourism such as resort, culture, cuisine, and even combining tourism with education. Therefore, Vietrantour is making efforts to take advantage of these factors to develop new products that are suitable for the requirements of tourists. The enterprise also believes that communication to help stabilize customer psychology plays an important role.
Restoring tourism activities is an urgent need
Mr. Vu The Binh - Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association, shared the most important thing is to change people's awareness, not to be too afraid of Covid-19 then stopping the recovery and development. It is necessary to restore tourism activities as quickly as possible, because this industry keeps a role as the locomotive to attract other industries. There are obviously difficulties but it takes effort, actively taking advantage of all factors to develop tourism in the new normal. According to him, Binh Dinh has great potential, is approaching to become one of the tourist centers in the South Central Region.
