A photo exhibition on the sea and islands of Vietnam and historical documents seen as legal evidence of Vietnam’s sovereignty was opened in Ho Chi Minh City on October 13.
The 175 colour, black and white pictures portray not only the country’ sea and islands but also the traditions of the Vietnamese People’s naval forces.
The show is one of the municipal activities to increase public awareness of Vietnam’s sea and islands as well as efforts to build and develop the society, economy and culture of islands and to protect the country’s sovereignty over them.
It serves as a testament the affection the residents of Ho Chi Minh City feel toward people living on islands in Vietnam. It is expected to last until October 28.
