Update: Jan 13, 2010
A group of artists in the central province of Quang Nam are creating a unique calligraphic work comprised of 1,000 poems that will be printed on 1,000m Ma Chau silk.

Poems were selected from 5,000 works nationwide and the silk was woven in Ma Chau Village, said Ho Trung Viet from Duy Xuyen District’s Ornamental Creature Association.

Each section of the work will be decorated with patterns, landscape images, and cultural icons, from all regions of the country.

The work will cost VND300 million (US$15,000) to produce and will be completed by May. Once finished, it will be taken to Hanoi to display at the 1,000th anniversary of the city.
