Update: Mar 22, 2010
Ho Chi Minh City is scheduled to welcome 3,250 European tourists from two five-star international cruise ships - the Costa Classica and the Costa Allegra - on March 22 and 23.

The tourists, coming mostly from Italy, Spain, the UK, and Germany, are customers of the municipal travel company Saigontourist on a tour that will take them to the Mekong Delta city of My Tho, and localities in the central region, including Danang, Hoi An, My Son and Hue.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the visitors will be entertained with a city tour which includes shopping in Ben Thanh, the city’s largest market, and visits to workshops producing rice pancakes and lacquer ware.

The country’s largest economic hub on March 29 also plans to welcome another luxury cruise ship – the Europa - which, as scheduled, will visit the world heritage site of Halong Bay in the North and the central city of Danang as well.
