Update: Jun 28, 2011
The Vietnamese Embassy in Tokyo and Japan’s NHK Broadcasting Corporation hosted an exchange to introduce Vietnam’s country and people on June 24.

Addressing the event, which drew the participation of over 150 guests, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Phu Binh highlighted cultural similarities between the two countries and spoke highly of comprehensive development of the Vietnam-Japan strategic partnership during the past time.

The event offered guests a chance to find out about Vietnam’s history, culture and tourism with famous beautiful landscapes as well as enjoy traditional dishes and music performances, staged by Vietnamese diplomats, students and Japanese artists.

Ambassador Binh said that this event aimed to further increase mutual understanding between the two peoples, adding that this was of importance to developing political and economic ties between Vietnam and Japan.

The embassy also plans to cooperate with Japanese partners to organise a Vietnam Festival in Tokyo next mid-September to promote the country’s culture and tourism.
