Large entertainment complex constructed in Long An
Update: Oct 05, 2011
An entertainment complex called Happy Land, similar to the famous amusement destinations in the world such as Disneyland and Universal Studio, has been constructed by Phu An Infrastructure Development and Construction JSC, a subsidiary of Khang Thong Group in a quite convenient position in Ben Luc District, Long An Province, only 20 minutes by car away from HCM City.

Covering an area up to 338ha, the Happy Land will include theme park, large-scale commercial center, 3-5 star hotels, water parks, studio parks, discotheques, indoor and outdoor theaters, restaurants, shopping centers, floating market, the miniature world with many famous buildings in the world, Vietnamese cultural center, art museum, etc.

Designed by Steelman Partners (USA), Happy Land has a total investment up to US$2 billion, of which US$600 million will be reserved for the theme park - a particularly highlight of the complex. In addition, King of Pop Michael Jackson’s father, Mr. Joseph Jackson is interested in this project and decided to invest it. He has become a senior partner of a five-star hotel with an area of 15 hectares. He will set up a huge statue of the King of Pop at a museum which will display images of Michael Jackson. It is believed to attract a large number of visitors to Happy Land.

As expected, Happy Land will be a good combination between the tradition of Viet Nam and the modern world. This will be the biggest entertainment park in Southeast Asia. Visitors will be able to enjoy bugs village, discover ancient world, take a boat drift onto a deserted island or fly a spacecraft into the galaxy… Happy Land will be a world in miniature, a convergence of world’s cultural elite and Viet Nam’s cultural identities, especially the culture of the Mekong Delta. It will be also a Viet Nam in miniature, so it will be easy for visitors to learn more about Viet Nam. Happy Land will be not only an interesting destination for visitors but also as a place for instructing people the characters, habits and awareness of the environment protection.

The project is scheduled for official inauguration and opening in April 2014. Happy Land expects to receive around 14 million visitors a year and generate many local jobs.
