In the first six months, with the effort of the culture, sports and tourism sector of Thanh Hoa province, the preservation and promotion of ethnic cultural heritage in the province has achieved many goals.
In June 2011, Ho citadel was recognized as a world cultural heritage site and was approved by the Prime Minister as a special national relic affirming the effort of the whole provincial cultural sector.
The provincial cultural sector actively coordinated with departments and committees to prepare conditions for the ceremony to receive the certificate of world cultural heritage for Ho dynasty citadel, as well as other activities such as a seminar on promoting cultural heritage of the Ho dynasty citadel, folklore singing festival, poster exhibition, photo contest and ethnic cultural festival.
The sector also speeds up the implementation of eight projects on preserving relics with a total approved investment of 228 billion VND, and prepares to invest in nine projects with an investment of 16 billion VND.
The sector gave consultancy to the chairman of the provincial People's Committee to consider and approve regulations on the management, preservation and promotion of the value of relics and landscapes in the province; organize a training course on investigation of intangible cultural heritage; and continues to make a profile on Con Moong Cave heritage, in addition to restoring 15 relics and developing criteria of profiles to rank relics.
