Update: Sep 11, 2012
A photographic exhibition called "glimpses of Vietnam" opened in Choisy le Roi city, about 20km from Paris, on September 9.

The event is part of activities to celebrate the festival in Choisy le Roi and mark the 40th anniversary of the signing of the historic Paris Agreement in 1973 which put an end to the war and established peace in Vietnam.

On display are 20 typical works selected from more than 6,000 colour photos taken by French photographer Gerard Memmi during his 15 visits to Vietnam.

They provide a fascinating glimpse into the mountainous scenery and daily lives of ethnic minority people in Sapa and Mai Chau and other ancient sites in and around Hanoi.

Gerard Memmi said that he is in love with Vietnam and wants to organize an exhibition on the country at the Vietnam Culture Centre in France on the occasion of the two countries' friendship year in 2013.
