The President Ho Chi Minh Memorial in the Kim Lien historic site in Nam Dan district, the central province of Nghe An, was formally certified as a special national historic site at a ceremony in the province on December 7.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed that President Ho Chi Minh's life and career is an excellent example of a communist devoting his life for the Vietnamese revolutionary cause. He is a leader with genius, great teacher of the nation and a prominent soldier of the international communist movement making a great contribution to national liberation and anti-colonialism, independence and the advancement of oppressed peoples in the world. President Ho Chi Minh was recognised by UNESCO as a hero of national liberation and an outstanding cultural celebrity.
Deputy PM Phuc and leaders from ministries, central agencies and Nghe An province laid a floral wreath and offered incense to the President and his relatives, and planted a commemorative tree at the historic site.
