Sharp rise in cruise tourists to Da Nang in 1st quarter 2013
Update: Jan 17, 2013
Da Nang is scheduled to welcome 48 cruise ships, with a total of approximately 44,000 passengers, to the city in the first quarter of 2013, a year-on-year increase of over 35.6%.  There will be 16 cruise ship arrivals this month, and Saigontourist will offer services to most of them.

This increase is an encouraging sign for the city's tourism.  Cruise passengers often arrive in large quantities and most of them are on pleasure, sightseeing, exchange or cultural understanding tours.  Therefore, they have a greater demand for shopping and entertainment than other types of tourists, and the average spending per passenger per day ranges from 100 to 200 USD.

The Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism reported that approximately 2.65 million visitors came to the city in 2012, a year-on-year increase of 12%.  Most notably, this number included 55,000 international cruise visitors, a year-on-year increase of 91.16%.
