The Ba Na Hills Mountain Resort in the central city of Danang will open its third cable car route on March 29 after 420 days of construction.
This is the longest in the world to set 4 world records, recognised by the Guinness World Records organisation for its length, (5,771.61m), for its greatest difference in height between departure and destination (1,368.93m), for its longest non-stop cable length (11,585m), and for its heaviest cables weight (141.24 tonnes).
The 30-million Euro cable car route was built by the Austrian company Doppelmayr Cable Car and the Swiss company CWA Constructions.
The route has 86 cabins, takes only 17 minutes to reach the top of the mountain and is capable of carrying 1,500 visitors per hour.
This is one of activities celebrating the 38th anniversary of the liberation of Danang City.
The Ba Na Hills resort is expected to welcome 1 million visitors in 2013. It already received 761,154 travelers in 2012, up 120 percent from 2011.
