Da Nang is blessed with a favourable geographical position, and is blessed with beautiful beaches and stunning scenery. In addition, the city boasts seaports, an international-standard airport, modern infrastructure and high-quality services, along with favourable incentive policies for investors. Thanks to all these, Da Nang has a greater potential for local tourism development than many other localities in the central coast region.
Despite the current global economic downturn, the city is witnessing a boom in international-standard hotels and resorts alongside the local beaches.
By the middle of this year, Da Nang had attracted more than 60 tourism projects, with a total investment of over 3 billion USD. Amongst them are the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, the Vinpearl Luxury Da Nang, the Hyatt Danang Resort, the Azura building, VinaCapital’s golf course and villa development, the Fusion Maia, the 2nd phase of the Ngu Hanh Son Beach tourism area, the Sunrise Resort, and the Novotel.
Apart from the above-named projects, dozens of other tourism projects will be completed between now and 2015. These will include the 3rd and 4th phases of the Son Tra Resort and Spa, the 3rd phase of the VinaCapital resort and golf course, and the Le Meridien Danang Resort and Spa.
In 2012, Da Nang welcomed 2.5 million tourists to the city, about 800,000 of whom were foreigners.
Some foreign investors, who made their first visits to Da Nang 10 years ago, affirmed that recent years have seen a rapid change in the city. With modern infrastructure and favourable incentive policies for investors, Da Nang will become an even more important international tourism hub in the near future.
