Update: Sep 26, 2013
(TITC) - Aiming to respond to the World Tourism Day 2013 (27th Sept.) under the theme "Tourism and Water: Protecting our Common Future" and heading towards "Responsible Tourism" goal, from 26th- 27th, the Environmentally and Socially Responsible Tourism capacity development program (ESRT) in the coordination with Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) will hold a cycling parade program for environment in Ha Noi.

There will be over 150 participants who are students from some universities in Ha Noi divided into 3 groups. They will start to cycle from the Hanoi Opera House and finish at Thong Nhat Park.

The cycling parade is expected to deliver the message of World Tourism Day and the awareness of responsible tourism to the public, travel businesses, domestic and int'l tourists and to call for joining hands in water resource saving and preservation.

Message of Tourism and Water: Accessible water is vital to tourism, running most of the sector’s businesses, from hotels and restaurants to leisure facilities and transportation. If managed sustainably, tourism can bring benefits to the national and local communities and support water preservation. Protecting our Common Future!

The 7 key Responsible Tourism Messages: Not acting responsible hinders tourism in the long term. Responsible Tourism benefits businesses, people, tourists and the environment. Everyone can act responsibly. Responsible Tourism already exists. Responsible Tourism makes economic sense. A healthy environment generates healthy tourism. And happy people make happy tourists.
