Floral bicycle parade to encourage marine environment protection

(TITC) - On October 20, at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square, Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province, the floral bicycle parade was held to encourage the public's awareness of marine environment protection and to celebrate the 18th anniversary of Binh Thuan Tourism Day (October 24, 1995 - 2013).
The floral bicycle parade entitled "Protecting environment for tourism development" had the attendance of 250 youths from the provinces's universities, colleges. The parade's bicycles were creatively decorated with such slogans as protecting sustainable environment, tourists' friendly destination, friendly and sentimental Phan Thiet City ... and images of the provincial organizations’ environmental clean-up activities by the youths.

The parade aims to honour the beauty of natural attractions, pure environment and gentle people of Phan Thiet City, famous tourist destination with "blue sea, white sand, golden sunshine". The bicycles moved along the main streets including Nguyen Tat Thanh, Ton Duc Thang, Thu Khoa Huan...

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa - Director of Binh Thuan Cultural Center, the parade with decorated floral bicycles aims to uphold creativeness, raise awareness of the youths through concrete acts to preserve safe and pure environment, diffusing strongly to the community; and contribute to confirming the youths' role in making the city clean and green.

This was also an activity to propagandize civilized lifestyle, criticize acts which caused environmental pollution and encourage enterprises to make environmentally friendly products.
