In 2013, the number of tourists to the central coastal province of Quang Binh is forecast to reach 1.1 million, a year-on-year rise of 9.1 percent. Tourism turnover is expected to post more than VND1.3 trillion, up 11 percent in comparison to the previous year.
Of this figure, more than 975,900 tourist arrivals stayed in the province overnight.
This year, travel agencies in Quang Binh upgraded their technical facilities and equipment, renewed tourism products, improved service quality and strengthened tourism cooperation activities with northern central provinces.
In addition, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism associated with the Quang Binh Tourism Association and tourism businesses to organise exhibitions, survey destinations, study, build and put new tourism products and tours into operation to attract more tourist and improve the efficiency of tourism activities.
Quang Binh operated new destinations and routes such as Sinh Ton valley – Thuy Cung cave, Rao Thuong – En cave, Chay river – Dark cave and Tu Lan cavern. Particularly, the province piloted a tourism route to discover Son Doong cave, opening a new direction for Quang Binh tourism.
