A painting and photo exhibition on landscapes kicked off the Quan The Am (Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva) Festival on March 17 in Ngu Hanh Son district, Da Nang city.
The festival, which is one of Vietnam’s biggest ritual events of the year, includes a prayer ceremony for a year of peace, prosperity and happiness for the nation; as well as a folk music performance of bai choi (a card game in which players also sing).
A zen-tea exhibition, a candle-lit flower releasing, boat-races, traditional folk games and a martial arts performance will be held within the three-day festival.
The annual event is regarded as one of the most special tourism festivals in Vietnam and also a community cultural event, which helps preserve and uphold national cultural values.
