Vietnamese diplomatic representatives joined their Asia-Pacific counterparts for Embassy Day in Berlin to promote Viet Nam’s image internationally.
The Vietnamese delegation brought an exhibition space to the event, showcasing traditional handicrafts, national cuisine, and photographs of Viet Nam’s people and beautiful landscapes.
They also staged musical performances which were well-received by the audience.
Themed “Smart City”, the September 10 event provided a chance for participants to learn from each others’ experiences in a number of fields, from economics to tourism and culture, and to seek cooperation opportunities.
Indonesian Ambassador Fauzi Bowo, Chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Berline, said there was a huge potential for cooperation between Asian-Pacific countries and Germany, particularly at a time when East Asia was experiencing dynamic growth and boosting the global economy.
In seminars, the delegates highlighted some of the region’s major challenges, including rapid population growth, lack of natural resources and climate change impacts, which require smart solutions, especially with regard to infrastructure and urban development.
In Viet Nam, the German Film Festival is underway in the central province of Thua Thien Hue, screening films that feature the common themes of family, love and friendship. The event runs from September 11-17.
