Viet Nam has welcomed more than 6 million foreign arrivals over the past nine months, a year-on-year increase of 10%, according to the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT).
It has also served 32 million domestic holidaymakers, up 8% compared to the same period last year.
The tourism sector fetched over VND179 trillion in revenue, representing a year-on-year rise of 19%.
The number of guests travelling to Ha Noi hit 1.5 million in the nine-month period, up 17%. In September, the capital city offered culinary services along Hang Buom street for pedestrians in the Old Quarter, introducing international visitors to Ha Noi’s traditional dishes.
Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City bagged nearly VND19 trillion from tourism services, up 8.3% compared to the same period last year. Particularly, Seagull Airlines launched the Ha Noi - Ha Long Bay route in the northern province of Quang Ninh in September, using two of the latest generation Cessna Grand Caravan EX hovercraft. This helped passengers enjoy the beauty of the UNESCO-recognised bay from an altitude of 3,000m.
As scheduled, Seagull Airlines will open more other hovercraft flight routes including from Ho Chi Minh City to Mui Ne-Nha Trang-Phu Quoc- and Con Dao this December.
