Ca Mau strives to greets 1.2 million tourists in 2015

The southern tip province of Ca Mau will attempt to receive 1.2 million domestic tourist and 30,000 foreign tourist arrivals in 2015, according to tourism development plan for the province during the 2014-2015 and 2015-2020 period, approved by the provincial People’s Committee.

It aims to welcome 1.7 million domestic tourists and 50,000 foreign tourists by 2020, with 2.8 million and 110,000 respectively by 2030.

The province has set targets to improve tourism turnover to 1.15 trillion in 2015 and VND2.61 trillion in 2020 with the figure expected to reach VND7.16 trillion by 2030.

By focusing on carrying out socialization plans in tourism investment and development from now to 2020, Ca Mau is expected to mobilize VND500 billion, in which VND400 billion will be called up from the socialization plans and the rest will be from the Central and provincial budget.

Aiming to target sustainable tourism development, the provincial tourism sector made its efforts to overcome difficulties and challenges and promote the advantages of its natural resources as well as combining tourism with poverty reduction, social stabilization and political security.
