Update: Nov 11, 2014
To preserve and promote traditional cultural identity of ethnic minority groups, the Central Quang Tri provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has carried out a project on the preservation of Kalu traditional village of Dakrong commune, Dakrong district.

The project has helped to build 16 traditional houses in Kalu village as well as preserve the traditional culture of Bru-Van Kieu, contributing to building Kalu to become a typical eco-tourist cultural village in Quang Tri province.

Local man, Ho Thanh Man, said that his family has moved to live in the traditional house of their ethnic group. He added that his group no longer builds such traditional houses because it takes too much time and money, especially the roof.

The project has made not only him but also many local people excited and helped young people, as well as tourists, understand more about the traditions of the Bru-Van Kieu ethnic people, happily shared Mr. Man.
