The Thanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee and Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, this morning announced the official logo of the 2015 National Tourism Year, to be held in the province.
The logo is circled by the image of eight conical hats (Vietnamese traditional hats) connected together, representing eight Vietnamese heritage in the UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (two natural, five cultural and one mixed heritage).
The centre of the logo features the citadel of Ho Dynasty in Thanh Hoa province, a World Cultural Heritage, creating the focal point for its layout, sending the message of ‘connecting world heritage sites’.
The logo, designed with different colours, was inspired by the wealth of nature and culture in the country as well as the abundance of natural resources in the province. The combination of colours is expected to attract viewers’ eye.
The official logo was selected from 83 works by 34 competitors to the contest to design a logo for the 2015 National Tourism Year, launched in June. The first prize went to Nguyen Ngoc Huy Man from Da Nang city.
The 2015 National Tourism Year is expected to promote tangible and intangible cultural values and renowned natural landscapes in Viet Nam, particularly in Thanh Hoa province to domestic and international visitors, contributing to raising the country’s position in the world.
The event will be kicked off in mid March 2015 with an arts performance entitled ‘Thanh Hoa — a shining convergence of heritage’.
