The low-cost carrier, Jetstar Pacific will open a Ho Chi Minh City-Chu Lai (Quang Nam province) route on May 19, 2015.
The Ho Chi Minh City-Chi Lai route will operate three round-trip flights a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, using an Airbus A320-180 aircraft with 180 economy class seats.
At a working session between Quang Nam province and Jetstar Pacific Airlines Joint Stock Aviation Company on April 15, Quang Nam province agreed to create favourable conditions for the airline to open the new route linking Chu Lai and Ho Chi Minh City.
Earlier, Quang Nam province and Viet Nam's low cost airline, VietJet Air, agreed to open the same route with four round-trip flights a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The airline will officially launch the new route on May 27.
The launch of the new route linking Ho Chi Minh City and Chu Lai Open Economic Zone aims to meet increased demand and improve trade, investment, tourism, and cultural exchanges between Ho Chi Minh City and Quang Nam province, as well as other provinces and cities in the region.
Aiming to assist the low cost airlines, Quang Nam province will provide free transportation for passengers from Chu Lai airport to Tam Ky city and back, and encourage province cadres to use low cost tickets from Jetstar Pacific Airlines for their trips.
The province asked the low cost airlines to provide various services to passengers.
