Vung Tau to host international kite and cuisine festivals

The sixth International Kite Festival 2015 is scheduled to be held in Vung Tau city, in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau from April 21 to 27, announced the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism at a press briefing on April 15.

The festival themed ‘Flying with Viet Nam’ is expected to have the participation of 44 Vietnamese kite artisans and 53 international participants from Germany, France, the UK, Italy, New Zealand, Australia, Thailand, Nepal, Malaysia, India, China, South Korea, South Africa, Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines, the U.S, and Brazil.

The festival promises to bring the impressive and attractive kite performances to visitors, said the organisers.

As part of the festival, various activities will be held such as kite performance at night, a kite competition, and flag hoisting with Vietnamese flute kites, among others.

The same day, the Vung Tau city People’s Committee said the Coast City Cuisine Festival would take place in Vung Tau from April 23 to 26.

According to organisers, the festival will feature 74 booths from 37 local and international enterprises.

The event is expected to provide a good chance for visitors to enjoy local specialties of Vung Tau as well other coastal localities in Viet Nam.
