Talented cooks from numerous five-star hotels in Ha Noi, including Sofitel, Metropole, Ha Noi Daewoo, Melia and Sheraton, as well as famous restaurants in the capital gathered and brought various traditional and modern dishes from both Europe and Viet Nam to the festival.

The annual event, which was organised by the European Chamber of Commerce in Viet Nam, was one of numerous activities to mark European Day (May 9) and the 25th anniversary of the European Union (EU)-Viet Nam co-operation.

The EU and Viet Nam established diplomatic ties on November 28, 1990 and the union’s permanent mission was officially opened to Ha Noi in 1996. Bilateral ties have been strengthened, as the EU has become one of leading partners of the nation in numerous fields, especially in economics, trade and investment, contributing to socio-economic development and the international integration of Viet Nam.
