Almost 300,000 tourists visit Ba Ria-Vung Tau

The southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau has greeted and provided services for nearly 6.8 tourist arrivals since the start of the year, 41.46% of the year’s plan, reported the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

This figure included nearly 300,000 foreign arrivals, a year-on-year rise of 9.7%.

The locality will continue to focus on completing the overall plan for tourism development through 2020, with a vision to 2030 by helping travel businesses to solve difficulties in order to attract more tourists to the locality. The province also selected some typical relics for restoration and set up a plan to draw more maritime tourists in the near future.

According to the managing board for Con Dao district tourism sites, since the beginning of the year, tourism turnover in the district reached nearly VND170 billion through welcoming and providing services for nearly 50,000 tourist arrivals, a year-on-year rise of 13%.

Currently, Con Dao has 34 accommodation providers with 547 rooms. The district set a target of receiving over 100,000 tourist arrivals in the rest of 2015, grossing a turnover of VND360 billion.
