A Vietnamese contingent led by Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh recently returned from a three-day working visit to Mexico where they sought to foster cooperation on a number of fronts.
During the August 13-15 visit, Minister An worked with Mexican Secretary of Foreign Affairs José Antonio Meade Kurubrena to lay out plans to enhance cultural and educational exchanges during the four year period 2016-2020.
In addition, Minister An met with Rafael Tovar Y de Teresa, the president of Mexico's National Council for Culture and Arts, who agreed to organize Vietnamese and Mexican film weeks in each country.
They also agreed to hold a large number of historical exhibitions and cooperate in cultural heritage development and training over the coming time.
In other meetings with Undersecretary of Tourism Operations Carlos Joaquin, the two sides united to sign a framework agreement through 2020 providing for educational training in a vast number of areas including tourism management and the Spanish language.
On the occasion, Minister Anh attended the Viet Nam Cultural Days in Mexico festival marking the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
