Vietnam Airlines resumes Ha Noi-Pleiku route
Update: Sep 07, 2015
The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will reopen the Ha Noi-Pleiku route from September 5, four days after the Pleiku Airport in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai resumed operations following months of suspension for upgrades.

Accordingly, the airlines will operate four round-trip flights per week on A321 aircrafts from September 6 to 14 before returning to one round-trip per day as usual from September 15 to October 24.

The operation plan after October 24 will be implemented later by the airlines.

Earlier, Vietnam Airlines also resumed the Ho Chi Minh City-Pleiku route with the first round-trip flight on September 1.

The expansion project of the Pleiku Airport’s runway, taxiway and passenger terminal started in late September 2014, with total investment of VND945 billion (US$41.58 million), funded by the Airport Corporation of Viet Nam.

Upgrades were completed after 11 months, four months ahead of the schedule, with the new runway widened from 36.6m to 45m and lengthened from 1.8km to 2.4km, and the new terminal capable of handling up to one million passengers per year.
